The National Civics Bee

The National Civics Bee is an annual program to promote civics for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, put on by the Civics Trust, an initiative of the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Non-partisan, it promotes civic engagement, community building, and learning about American democracy.
Each year, students from participating states submit essays about improving their communities. Local winners advance to state finals, and one winner from each state goes to DC to compete in the national finals.
And the 2024 first national champion was Emily Brubaker, from Anchorage, Alaska!
